Barbary sheep

Ammotragus lervia

Way of life: individually or in small troops;
They rest during the day and are active at night. Foraging in the morning and evening.

Barbary sheeps are excellent jumpers and climbers. Other names for the Barbary sheeps are: aoudad sheep, maned mouflon, Berber sheep, Aoudad. The Barbary sheep has rather a goat-like than sheep-similar shape and it lacks the pre-orbital-gland and the glands in the flank and between its claws. The serum protein is similar to that of sheep.
Barbary sheeps can do without water for a long time. They then live only from the dew and the juices of the plants. If they find a watering hole, they drink plenty.
