Himalayan tahr

Hemitragus jemlahicus

Enemies: Snow leopard

Way of life: Active during the day, skilled climbers and shy animals.

The Tahr is like the Barbary sheep a type equally related to goats and sheep. The scientific name Hemitragus menas half goat. The Tahre are divided into 4 subspecies. The Himalayan Tahr is only slightly endangered by the increasing destruction of its habitat.
